Well Mind – Frequently Asked Questions
Well Mind offers calm, supportive 1:1 sessions for people who feel stuck, overwhelmed, or quietly unhappy, and want space to slow down, reconnect with themselves, and find emotional clarity.
Sessions are client-led and focused on deep listening, reflection, and helping you understand what’s happening beneath the surface.
Well Mind sessions are supportive, reflective conversations designed to help you slow things down, talk openly, and get clearer on what you’re feeling and what you want to do next.
These sessions are client-led, meaning we focus on what you bring — whether that’s stress, relationships, life transitions, overwhelm, confidence, or feeling stuck.
I’m currently in my 3rd year of a counselling and psychotherapy degree course, and these sessions are offered as supportive, non-clinical support.
Counselling/psychotherapy is a clinical service delivered by a fully trained and accredited professional, and may involve working with diagnosed mental health conditions and structured therapeutic treatment. This is the level of practice I’m working toward through my degree, but these sessions are supportive rather than clinical therapy.
✅ Well Mind is ideal if you want:
space to talk things through
emotional clarity
support during a stressful chapter
reflection, direction, and grounding
someone to listen properly without judgement
⚠️ Well Mind may not be suitable if you need:
crisis support or urgent mental health care
clinical treatment for severe or complex mental health conditions
specialist psychotherapy
If you're unsure what level of support is right for you, you’re welcome to get in touch and we’ll figure out together whether this is the right fit.
Not in the traditional “strategy + action plan” style of coaching.
We focus more on understanding your inner experience — your emotions, values, patterns, and what feels true underneath the surface. Sometimes people don’t need another practical “to-do list”… they need a space where the human part of the struggle is actually acknowledged.
Approaches like CBT can be very helpful for creating change through practical tools, mindset shifts, and behaviour steps however at Well Mind, we make space for what you feel and what it means, because long lasting change happens when you feel genuinely understood, not just managed.
Well Mind sessions are currently online only.
In-person sessions may become available in the future (possibly 2026/2027), but for now all sessions take place online.

No, not at all.
Some of the most powerful sessions happen when you’re not sure what to say. Those moments can lead to unexpected clarity, light-bulb insights, and the deepest learning points. You don’t need a plan, just a willingness to show up as you are.
Sessions are client-led, meaning you choose what we focus on.
You’ll have a calm, supportive space to talk things through, explore what you’re feeling, and understand yourself more clearly. Sometimes it’s about processing emotions, sometimes it’s about patterns and relationships, and sometimes it’s simply about having space to breathe and reconnect with yourself.
That’s more than okay — emotions are often where the work is.
We live in a world where it’s easy to stay stuck in surface-level reactions. But underneath frustration or anger, there’s often something deeper. When you connect with your real feelings, it can feel raw and vulnerable but that’s also where growth, acceptance, and meaningful change can happen.
Yes, absolutely.
Conversations are confidential. Confidentiality may only be broken if there is serious concern about safety (for example, risk of harm to yourself or someone else), or where disclosure is required by law.
For online sessions, confidentiality also depends on having a private space on your side, a quiet, isolated room where you won’t be overheard.
Yes — before we meet, you’ll be asked to read and sign:
Confidentiality Agreement
Terms & Conditions
Consent for Online Sessions
This helps keep everything clear, safe, and respectful for both of us.
To protect your privacy and get the most from the session, please ensure:
You are in a quiet, private space where you won’t be overheard
You are in an isolated room where confidentiality can be maintained
You have a stable internet connection
You are not driving or in a public space during the session
You join from a device where you feel comfortable speaking freely
You can join your session using a computer, laptop, tablet, or phone.
For the best experience, it helps if:
Your device is fully charged or plugged in
Your camera is positioned so you can sit comfortably (if using a phone, it’s best when it’s propped up / free-standing)
You use headphones/earphones if possible, as this can improve sound quality and support privacy
You close other apps and notifications to reduce interruptions
If your connection drops or there are any technical issues, we’ll simply reconnect and continue.
If privacy or a stable connection can’t be guaranteed, it’s best to reschedule.
There’s no “right” number as it is completely personal.
Some people come for clarity during a specific moment in life, while others return simply because they value having space to reflect, feel, and understand themselves more deeply. Being truly listened to is powerful and it’s something many adults don’t get enough of.
Ultimately, you decide what feels right for you.
You can cancel or reschedule up to 24 hours before your session with no charge.
Cancellations made within 24 hours of the appointment time may be charged in full.
Missed sessions (no-shows) are charged in full.
What if I arrive late?
If you arrive late, your session will still finish at the original scheduled end time, to stay fair to other bookings.
Sessions are not recorded by me.
Clients also agree not to record audio or video of sessions unless we have agreed this in writing beforehand.
Well Mind is not a crisis service and is not suitable for urgent mental health emergencies.
If you are in immediate danger, or feel unable to keep yourself safe, please contact emergency services or your local crisis support service.
